And now as my final post on the IJ version of Scans Daily, the July 2, 1983 issue of Victor. This title also depended heavily on war stories, but not quite as heavily as Warlord. They do however make the covers.
At this point, there was a one-page gag strip entitled "Cap'n Hand and his Mutinous Band." It was so mediocre even by the standard of gag strips that I have opted out of showing it. Your thoughts, gentlefolk? Coming up on Dreamwidth, a story with Thrill-Power! And the new darker and edgier take on a childhood favorite.

For my last post before the move, I thought I'd post an Amanda Conner commission I found online (and which isn't mine) which encapsulates much of what has made this place so much fun...
It has Dick Grayson as Robin, it has Spider-Man, it has cute kids, implied violence (and spanking at that!) and the promise of candy... what better image to summarise us? :)

Not that I think anyone's following this journal that isn't following my LJ, but when scans_daily closes here, I will be deleting this journal.
You can still find me on LiveJournal as sara_lakali and on Dreamwidth as saralakali.

Since it seems like a few people are making "last" posts to commemorate the move, I figured I might as well join in. And since it's my last post at InsaneJournal, why not take the material from the final volume of Monster?
Of course, in a series as full of twists and turns as this one is, you could argue that most scans would be a)inexplicable to people who haven't been following along and are not in possession of some sort of flowchart and/or b) massive spoilers for the entire series. But I don't think this scene is either.

Here is my post for the last day of Scans_Daily on InsaneJournal. I deceided to post a little comic I found in DS game booklet, a funny comic that gives us insight in the world of Phoenix Wright. I really hope the new journal is a bit easier to use, in terms of posting pictures and such.Enjoy.

Scans Daily IJ will be closing for good, on Saturday November 14th, at 9 PM EST/GMT -5.

In a way, Frank Miller has become a parody of himself so the label is almost superfluous.
Anyway, to you lucky few who have never heard of it, some years back Miller outlined his idea for a propaganda comic which was essentially Batman vs. Osama bin Laden, Holy Terror, Batman!. Yes, take a moment to goggle. You see what I meant about self-parody? It's not even fish in a barrel territory, it's more like the fish gutted itself, rolled around in lemon juice and butter then flopped into the frying pan. But dear god, when a guy sets himself up like this he's just begging the Internet to take a whack. I was going to save this parody for the new digs but I thought I'd say goodbye to 2.0 with my first ever post.

ETA: I just realized part of this has already been posted. You can read it here, where people already answered many questions that came up. I didn't think there was a chance someone had posted it already...that'll teach me to assume.
So I was reading some posts about Batman and Catwoman here, which reminded me how much I like Selina. Then I found espanolbot 's posts on Ed Brubaker's Catwoman, which reminded me how awesome they were. Anyway, I don't have more Catwoman, but I do have this short bit from The Comics Journal #263 that I think everyone will appreciate.
( Holly in the bath and Selina changing outfits! )

I know this image is meant to be all scary and whatnot, but this is scans_daily, where we find the "so wrong" in everything. Sure enough, Blackest Night offers some unwanted innuendo.
IGN has the previews. One stuck out in particular.

The third story from the VOICES IN THE DARK anthology. Click the tag for more.
Two friends in the woods uncover the truth behind a mysterious flood.
Another safe for work story from Ito. Is the man losing his touch?!
Given that he turns that pretty dull premise into an interesting tale by the end, I would say no. Read on to see how he does it, and for some pretty gnarly depictions of floods.

Looking over some of the great Jack Cole's work on Plastic Man in the 1940s, something occurred to me.We see Plas eating and drinking occasionally. So when he pulls a stunt like this:

Well, wouldn't the natural digestive gases found in the intestines be forced out through their logical exit? And wouldn't this be much like squeezing a whoopee cushion, with similar attention-drawing noises? ("Did youse mugs hear that? It means Plastic Man's here!" "No, boss-- that wuz me, I had chili for lunch.")

This whole limited series (and I wish they will make more) is one of the reasons why Scans_daily is so great. I never would've gotten this on my own or discovered it if not for the posts and love from the board, and I would not have recommended it to other comic book fans who now have picked it up themselves.
The adventures continue in #3. Dark Horse has the preview.
